German Toy Stoves with Cookware
By Kate Kelly

Toy stoves were a popular toy for girls in Germany in the nineteenth and 20th centuries. They were almost always made of tin or pressed steel, not cast iron which was popular in the United States. Many of the premier German toy manufacturers who made trains and trucks and cars for boys also made toy stoves. Marklin and Bing are two of the more famous makers, and their products are highly desired by collectors today.
